Teofilo keeps on rolling

Ihtiraam is winner number 14 at Yarmouth

Fresh from siring his first ever G1 winner on Saturday, the winners keep on flowing for Teofilo when Ihtiraam became his fourteenth on Monday October 10. Making his debut for Godolphin, he showed great tenacity to out battle the hot favourite Shaleek to win by a neck.

Bought as a yearling for €140,000, he was bred by Lodge Park Stud and is out of Park Romance (Dr Fong), a juvenile winner who was third in the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes. Park Romance also has a yearling filly by New Approach, who was sold last week at Tattersalls Book 1 for 260,000Gns and a filly foal by Kheleyf.

Teofilo has sired four Stakes winners from his impressive first crop. On Saturday, Parish Hall emulated his sire by taking the G1 Dewhurst Stakes, while Remember Alexander beat the boys in the G3 Tyros Stakes, and Parish Hall’s stable companion Teolane won a Listed race at Naas. In Germany, Black Arrow is an unbeaten Stakes winner after landing the Preis des Union Gestuts on his second start. It is worth noting that by siring his fourteenth winner, he is now eclipsed the totals for both winners and stakes winners that his sire and grandsire, Galileo and Sadler’s Wells, both achieved with their first full year of runners.
