A stellar sale for Darley stallions

Tattersalls Book 2 closes with a top lot for Dubawi

After Shamardal had stolen all the plaudits on the opening day, Dubawi brought the curtain down on Tattersalls October Yearling Book 2 sale in style, siring the top lot of the final day.

Consigned by Croom House Stud (lot 1267) and a half-brother to Hong Kong G2w Endowing, John Ferguson signed for the colt at 300,000 gns, a fully 60,000 gns more than any other sale that day.

Heading the pack in second, and continuing the connection to Hong Kong, was an Iffraaj colt out of Toquette (lot 1130). Consigned by Corduff Stud, he is a close relative of G1-winning juvenile Arcano with Hong Kong Jockey Club paying 240,000 gns.

Shamardal also concluded the sale strongly when his German-bred son (from Gestuet Westerberg) out of Champion juvenile Boccassini was also knocked down for 240,000 gns, this time John Ferguson signing the ticket.
