Son of Teofilo remains unbeaten in Ireland

Beamish lands the Listed Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon

Beamish, a four-year-old son of Teofilo, landed his first Stakes race at the first attempt on Tuesday, 28 June when victorious in the Listed Lenebane Stakes at Roscommon. Run over a mile and a half, Beamish was held up early, and despite meeting a troubled passage at the top of the straight, ran on well to win by half-a-length.

The lightly raced colt has now won all three career starts, adding to his victories at Leopardstown and Killarney.

Bred in France by M Alexander Rom, Beamish is a half-brother to six winners including the Champion juvenile filly Bourree. He is out of the Lomitas mare Bearlita, a daughter of Stakes-winning juvenile Bearall.

Teofilo has now sired seven Stakes winners in 2022 including the Group winners Character and Honeycreeper, plus three-year-old Listed winners Wexford Native and Nations Pride, who next heads to a G1 in the US next month. Teofilo will be available to cover to southern hemisphere time later this year.
