Son of Shamardal on cue for first stakes victory

Right On Cue flys home in the G3 Keihan Hai

Right On Cue, a four-year-old son of Shamardal, delivered a first Stakes victory on Sunday, 24 November when flying home in the G3 Keihan Hai over 1200m at Kyoto. Settled in mid division and asked for improvement in the final 400m, the colt duly obliged devouring his opponents in a matter of strides to win by one and three quarter lengths.

A Godolphin homebred, Right On Cue is the best performer out of the Raven’s Pass mare Great Timing. She is a half-sister to the Listed placed No Use Denying, dam of G1 Spinaway Stakes winner Perfect Alibi. This is the family of Champion US filly Chris Evert and G1 victrix Missed The Storm.

It has been a sensational season for Shamardal siring five individual G1 winners including Cartier award winners and multiple G1 victors Blue Point and Pinatubo. He is the only stallion to sire three unbeaten G1 winning juveniles in the same crop whilst his son Blue Point became the first horse to win three G1 sprints at Royal Ascot.
