Son of Iffraaj claims first Stakes win

Maybe Miami lands the Listed Speight's Timaru Stakes at Riccarton Park

Iffraaj’s son Maybe Miami claimed his first Stakes victory on Saturday 28 January when winning the Listed Speight’s Timaru Stakes over 1400m at Riccarton Park, in the process landing his seventh career race. The Kevin and Pam Hughes- trained gelding, who was ridden by Sam Collett came from the outside to finish powerfully in the straight, ahead of Stakes winner Batman.

Bred by A W Jones, Mrs E W Morris and Canterbury BS, he is out of Miami (Waikiki Star), a sister to Stakes-winning mare Argentina.

Iffraaj, who is standing this season at a fee of £27,500, has now sired 45 Stakes winners including the top-flight scorers RibchesterRizeena, Chriselliam, and Wootton Bassett
