Aablan, a juvenile son of Dubawi, remained unbeaten at Sandown Park on Saturday, 2 August when landing the G3 Solario Stakes. After a debut victory on Newmarket’s July course, he was keen in the early stages of the seven furlong contest but battled gamely to beat Inishfallen (Exceed And Excel) by a neck.
The Solario Stakes has an illustrious history with previous winners including Raven’s Pass, Masar, and Too Darn Hot, also a son of Dubawi.
A Godolphin homebred, Aablan is the first foal of five-time Group winner Promising Run, who is a daughter of Brazilian G1 winner Aviacion.
Dubawi has now sired 28 Stakes winners in 2023 including four that have won at the highest level: Lockinge hero Modern Games, Nassau Stakes winner Al Husn, Lord North, winner of the Dubai Turf in March, and In Italian, one of the best turf fillies in North America.
