Seventh Stakes victory for Dubawi’s Australian son Jungle Edge

Nine-year-old takes earnings beyond A$1.7 million

The ever-reliable Jungle Edge, one of Dubawi’s 184 Stakes winners, scored his seventh black-type victory in the G3 Sir John Monash Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, 11 July.

Jumping cleanly with the field, the Mick Bell-trained runner lead the field home and as he does whenever he finds a wet track, Jungle Edge, improved by several lengths to beat the good sprinter Viridine (Poet’s Voice) by three-quarters of a length.

The win was the 19th for the nine-year-old whose latest victory took his earnings beyond A$1.7 million, a figure he began to compile at his first start in January 2015.

Bred by Mr Chris Strickland, Jungle Edge will now contest the G3 Bletchingly Stakes at Caulfield in two weeks time as Dubawi’s Stakes tally creeps closer to 500 Stakes wins worldwide.
