Second successive G3 victory for son of Teofilo

Boundless Ocean strikes at Leopardstown in the Desmond Stakes

Teofilo’s three-year-old son Boundless Ocean struck again at G3 level on Thursday, 11 August with an all the way win in the Desmond Stakes. Run over a mile at Leopardstown, the imposing colt who had taken the Meld Stakes on his previous start, recorded a three-quarter-of-a-length victory.

Bred by his trainer Jim Bolger and making his first start for new owner Sheik Abdululelah Abdulaziz A Almousa, Boundless Ocean is out of the New Approach mare Novel Approach, who hails from the extended family of Champion Arcangues.

Teofilo is enjoying a magnificent 2022 with last weekend’s G1 victor Nations Pride one of 11 Stakes winners, that also includes the high-class juvenile Naval Power. He has been the broodmare sire of the English 1,000 Guineas (Cachet) and 2,000 Guineas winners (Coroebus), the recent G1 Preis der Diana heroine Toskana Belle, German 2,000 Guineas winner Maljoom, and G1 Prix d’Ispahan victress Dreamloper.
