Second Stakes winner of the weekend for Dubawi

Devamani scores first Black Type win in G2 Knickerbocker Stakes

Devamani, a son of Dubawi, scored his first Stakes win on Sunday, 18 October when taking the G2 Knickerbocker Stakes at Belmont Park. Placed three-times in Stakes company, the Chad Brown trained charge made a late swoop to clinch a first Black Type win by two lengths.

Bred by the Aga Khan Studs, Devamani is a half-brother to G1 Prix Ganay winner Dariyan out of the G1 Hong Kong Vase heroine Daryakana (Selkirk). She is the best performer from the G1-winning Night Shift mare Daryaba.

Dubawi has enjoyed another exceptional year on the racecourse siring four G1 winners including yesterday’s G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes victor The Revenant. Further Group winners this season include G3 Autumn Stakes hero One Ruler and G2 Superlative Stakes winner Master Of The Seas.
