Second Stakes win for son of France’s leading sire Slickly

Mobaco lands La Coupe de Marseille

Mobaco has been a consistent campaigner for his sire Slickly, having been placed in 11 of his 14 starts, and on 7 September the three-year-old colt recorded his second victory at Stakes level when landing the ten-furlong Coupe de Marseille.

This was the sixth career win for Mobaco, who also took the Listed Prix Delahante as a juvenile.

Owned and bred by Jean-Claude Seroul, Mobaco is out of the Stakes-placed Anabaa mare Lunaa, whose half-sister Ifni is the dam of multiple G1 winner Gentoo.

Slickly, currently France’s leading sire by prizemoney, is also sire of three-time G1 winner Meandre (winner of this year’s G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and G1 Grosser Preis Von Berlin), plus fellow Group winners Gris de Gris and Lixirova.
