Darley announces fees for its 2018 European roster

The Darley stallions have enjoyed another outstanding year on the racecourse, siring 24 G1 winners around the world in 2017. Iffraaj's Champion miler Ribchester heads the line up of new stallions for 2018.

European Champion miler Ribchester will stand at Kildangan Stud for €30,000 in 2018. A limited number of breeding rights are available in the son of Iffraaj.

Winner of the Prix Jacques le Marois last season, Ribchester has notched up a hat-trick of G1 victories this year, landing the Lockinge in May before breaking the track record in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot and adding the Prix du Moulin to his tally in September.

The best son of Iffraaj, Ribchester has further links to Darley through his female family – he is the highest-rated horse descended from Fall Aspen after Dubai Millennium.

Ribchester’s sire Iffraaj will stand for £40,000 in 2018 at Dalham Hall Stud. Iffraaj has sired three G1 winners of seven G1 races this year, including the Australasian Classic winners Gingernuts and Jon Snow.

Joining Ribchester as a new recruit to Kildangan Stud is Profitable, the best sprinting son of Invincible Spirit. The G1 King’s Stand winner will stand for €12,000.

With 33 individual G1 winners, 13% Stakes winners to foals, 10% Group winners and a yearling sales average of £751,000 in 2017, Dubawi remains one of the world’s very finest stallions. His fee will remain unchanged at £250,000.

Dubawi is joined on the roster at Dalham Hall Stud by three of his most talented sons. Four-time G1 winner Postponed is Dubawi’s leading middle-distance colt and is new to Dalham Hall Stud in 2018 where he will stand for £20,000.

Dubawi’s 2,000 Guineas victor Night Of Thunder, also winner of the G1 Lockinge, moves to Dalham Hall Stud after two seasons at Kildangan and will stand for £15,000. Poet’s Voice, Britain’s leading sire of two-year-olds and sire of G1 British Champion Stakes runner-up Poet’s Word, will stand for £6,000.

Slade Power made a big impact at the recent yearling sales, recording an average of €93,000 at the select sales, with his stand-out lots headed by two yearlings who sold for 260,000gns apiece. He will stand for €15,000 next season.

Fast Company, who will stand for €9,000 at Kildangan, has enjoyed a strong season with seven Stakes winners worldwide, including G3 Ballyogan Stakes winner Penny Pepper and Robert Bruce, the unbeaten Champion of his generation in Chile where he has won his three G1s by a combined 21 lengths.

New to Haras du Logis in 2018 is record-breaking French Champion juvenile Ultra who will stand for €7,000, the same fee commanded by his G1 sire Manduro. Authorized, the highest-rated Derby winner from the Montjeu line, will stand for €12,000.
