Second Group victory for son of Dubawi

Jungle Edge led all the way to claim the G3 BRC Sprint

G1 placed Jungle Edge (Dubawi) claimed a thrilling victory in the G3 BRC Sprint at Doomben on 20 May. The six-year-old was claiming his second Group win following his triumph in the G3 Star Kingdom Stakes at Rosehill earlier this year, and he is now a likely contender for the G1 Stradbroke Handicap.

Jumping well from the barriers, the Mick Bell-trained gelding moved straight to the lead setting a consistent pace before powering home to secure a dominant two-length victory.

Bred by Mr C Strickland, Jungle Edge is out of winning mare Jungle Girl who has produced four winners from as many foals. Jungle Girl is a half-sister to Jewel Of Africa, herself a dam of Stakes winners Shamoline Warrior (Shamardal) and Cadillac Mountain (Reset).

Dubawi has sired 28 individual G1 winners including his most recent success Sobetsu who landed the G1 Prix Saint-Alary just last week, as well as G1 hero Postponed, 2,000 Guineas hero Night Of Thunder, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes scorer Poet's Voice and Dubai winners Hunter's Light and Monterosso.

Dubawi stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £250,000 October 1st SLF.
