Repeat G2 win for son of Teofilo

Twilight Payment wins the Curragh Cup for second successive year

Teofilo’s brilliant son Twilight Payment repeated his 2019 success in the G2 Curragh Cup with an impressive win on Saturday, 18 July. The winner of the G3 Vintage Crop Stakes last time out, he was always tracking the pace and when asked to assert at the top of the straight he quickly went clear to win by eight lengths. The admirable gelding has now won or placed in 18 Stakes contests.

Bred by Jim Bolger, Twilight Payment is out of the winning Oasis Dream mare Dream On Buddy, a half-sister to Royal Ascot G2 winner Banimpire. Dream On Buddy has also produced the G2-placed juvenile Bandiuc Eile (New Approach), and she also has a full-sister two-year-old to her named Our New Buddy.

Teofilo has sired eight Stakes winners in 2020 including two thrilling G1 scorers. Exultant was named Hong Kong horse of the season, with two of his five top-flight triumphs coming this year while Tawkeel became France’s leading three-year-old filly with a wide-margin win in the Prix Saint Alary. Earlier this week Teofilo’s three-year-old colt Subjectivist was an easy winner of the Listed Glasgow Stakes at Hamilton.
