Quidura charges home to win the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes

Daughter of Dubawi now unbeaten in two North American starts

Gestut Fahrhof’s homebred Quidura put away rival My Impression and drew clear in the stretch to win the G3 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes by one-and-a-quarter lengths at Keeneland October 21.

Content to sit just off the pace in fourth through the early stages of the race, Quidura began her rally on the far turn, closing steadily on the frontrunners while moving three-wide out in the center of the turf course. At the top of the stretch, the three-year-old daughter of Dubawi drew alongside leader My Impression; the pair matched strides briefly before Quidura put her rival away and set sail for home, cruising under the wire a determined winner.

The Valley View marked the first Graded Stakes victory for Quidura, who remains perfect in two North American starts. Overall, Quidura now has won three of four career starts.

Bred in Great Britain by her owner, Quidura is out of the Stakes-placed mare, Quetena, and is a half-sister to German champions Querari (G1Premio Presidente Repubblica) and Quasillo. Quidura’s second dam is Quebrada (by Devil’s Bag), champion two- and three-year-old filly in Germany.

Quidura’s victory continues a tremendous month for her sire, Dubawi, who is coming off a weekend that saw him sire two G1 winners in Erupt and Journey. Dubawi now has 10 Stakes winners in October, and 32 thus far for the year, including additional G1 winners Postponed, Left Hand, and Wuheida.
