Purple patch continues for Teofilo

Foundation Stakes victory for Arod provides his sire with a fourth Black Type winner in May

Teofilo has been enjoying a superb run of form lately and on Monday, 15 May his talented son Arod returned to Stakes-winning ways with a front-running win in the Listed Foundation Stakes at Windsor.

Soon in front under Oisin Murphy, Arod was asked for his effort with a furlong left to run and saw off a strong challenge from favourite Oh This Is Us to take the one-mile contest by a neck.

Arod already has some impressive form on his record, finishing fourth in the Derby. At four, he was third in Night Of Thunder’s G1 Lockinge and went on to win the G2 Summer Mile the same year. He also found only outstanding miler Solow (Singpsiel) too good in the G1 Sussex Stakes.

Arod was bred in Ireland by Kabansk Limited and Rathbarry Stud and is one of six winners from six foals to race out of the winning Rahy mare My Personal Space.

Teofilo’s other Black Type winners this month are Newmarket Stakes hero Key Victory, G3 Queen Mother Memorial Cup winner Irishcorrespondent, and Bloomfield, who won the Vintage Tipple Stakes last week.

Teofilo stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €40,000, Oct 1 SLF.
