Prix de Thiberville success for Mila

Daughter of Cape Cross takes the Longchamp Listed contest

Mila, a three-year-old daughter of Cape Cross, gained her first Stakes victory at her first attempt in the grade when landing the Listed Prix de Thiberville over 2400m at Longchamp. Sent to the front from the start she never saw another rival, beating her owner's other runner Loredana into second, with Lucky Look (Teofilo) back in third.

Owned and bred by H.H. Aga Khan, Mila is the second winner and second Stakes performer out of the G3-winning Linamix mare Minatlya, who herself is a full-sister to three-time G1 winner Manighar.

Sire of two of the best horses in recent memory in Ouija Board and Sea The Stars, Cape Cross has now sired nine Stakes winners and 17 Stakes performers in 2013 including the progressive Guest of Honour who was a close third in the G2 Summer Mile at Ascot earlier in the day.
