Power to the breeder

Introducing… The Darley CLUB

Darley has announced the launch of an exciting initiative for breeders in Europe – The Darley CLUB.

The rules of The Darley CLUB are simple – pay upfront for one nomination to select new Darley stallions and you can breed to him in his second and third seasons for free. What's more, if you use the stallion in all three seasons, you earn a loyalty bonus – a lifetime breeding right to that stallion.

Four promising new stallions will be offered to CLUB members for the 2016 breeding season. G1-winning juvenile Outstrip (Exceed And Excel) will be based at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, while record-breaking miler French Navy (Shamardal) and G2 winner Fulbright (Exceed And Excel) will both stand at Kildangan Stud in Ireland. Triple G1 winner Hunter’s Light (Dubawi) will stand in France at Haras du Logis.

Nominations to all four stallions will also be available on Darley’s standard October 1st SLF terms. All of the new stallions offer a fantastic opportunity to breed to proven Group winners.

Outstrip quickly proved himself a top-flight performer when defeating subsequent multiple G1 winner The Grey Gatsby by three lengths in the G2 Champagne Stakes, before triumphing over 12 rivals in the ultra-competitive G1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf at Santa Anita. Having also been G1-placed in the Dewhurst Stakes, Outstrip added a further G1 placing to his record when third in the St James’s Palace Stakes to Classic-winning milers Kingman and Night Of Thunder.

Also a precocious juvenile, Fulbright landed the Listed Woodcote Stakes on Derby day, before stepping up to become an ultra-tough and consistent performer from seven furlongs to a mile, where his victories included the G2 Challenge Stakes at Newmarket.

French Navy, who remains in training until the end of the season, proved himself a model of consistency throughout his six seasons of racing, winning at Group level at two, three, six and seven and at Stakes level in every season between. His career highlights include victory in the G3 Prix de Chenes over a mile at two, and in the G3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes in April this year, where he finished ahead of G1 performer Arod.

Hunter’s Light also maintained the highest level of form throughout six seasons of racing, in a career that saw him record three G1 triumphs over from nine to ten furlongs. Following a hat-trick of Listed victories at three, he went on to triumph in the G1 Premio Roma at four, before rounding off his career with a pair of G1 victories in Dubai.

Sam Bullard, Director of Stallions, commented, “The Darley CLUB offers breeders a fantastic and very affordable way of breeding to quality stallions. The chance to secure a lifetime breeding right for the cost of just one nomination is a great opportunity for breeders, and offers fantastic terms which put the balance of power firmly in the hands of the breeder.”
