Daughter of Manduro storms to 13-length triumph in Italy

Miss Manduro, a daughter of Kildangan Stud stallion Manduro, broke her Maiden in style on Wednesday November 9, when storming to a 13-length triumph at Naples in Italy. Making her first start against eight fellow debutants over the 1800m trip, she bounced out of the gates in the lead under jockey Christian Demuro and was never headed (click here to see her devastating triumph).

Bred by Georgestown Stud in Ireland, she is the second living foal out of the US Stakes-placed mare Kristina’s Wish, a seven-time winner from the family of Champion Canadian sprinter Soaring Free.

Manduro, the scintillating Horse of the Year and world Champion racehorse of 2007, has now sired six impressive first-crop winners. Bonfire won well on his debut before finishing a luckless third in the G1 Criterium International, Mandaean earned TDN rising star status when winning his only start in France and will likely start at prohibitive odds in this weekends G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud and Kolonel, another unbeaten colt in Germany, who is very well-regarded by his trainer Andreas Wohler.
