Emirates Hills is winner number sixteen for Dubawi

Just two days after Sand Vixen booked her ticket to the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes with victory in the Listed St Hugh’s Stakes, first-season sire Dubawi recorded his 16th individual winner when Emirates Hills took the six-furlong maiden at Windsor on 17 August.

Always prominent, the Ed Vaughan-trained filly took up a handy position on the inside rail and despite being hard pressed in the closing stages, kept to her task well to win by a nose from Filwa.

Bred by Red House Stud and now owned by Ali Saeed, Emirates Hills is the first foal to race out of the Diktat mare Starstone – a half-sister to G1-winning sprinters Pastoral Pursuits and Goodricke.

Her victory was the second of Ed Vaughan’s charges sired by Dubawi to enter the winner’s enclosure on Monday, after Seeking Dubai progressed from her maiden win earlier in the month to take the six furlong nursery in convincing style at Kempton. She could now head for the Dick Poole Stakes, due to take place at Salisbury next month.
