NZ Listed winner for Dubawi

Cellarmaster steps up to add black type to his record

Cellarmaster had the distinction of being Dubawi's first southern hemisphere winner and now he is also his first Stakes winner in Australia and New Zealand after taking out the Listed Wentwood Grange Stakes at Te Rapa.

Only a  month ago the colt landed his maiden victory at Otaki, landing the 800m event by a length and a half. This was followed up by a second place over 1000m a fortnight later behind Jimmy Chox, before reversing those places today with a half-length victory at the extended distance of 1100m.

Bred by his owner Judge Clapham, Cellarmaster is out of Oenology, a daughter of Sound Reason.

In the northern hemisphere, Dubawi has been represented by 34 first-crop runners in 2009, including the Group Two winners Poet’s Voice and Sand Vixen.

Commands filly Demanding Miss also gained her first black type when second in the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes at Eagle Farm, where she won on her racecourse debut on 10 October.
