A regular look at promising maiden winners for Darley sires. This week, Light Heavy, a three-parts brother to Parish Hall looks to be an exciting prospect for Teofilo

Teofilo enjoyed a superb year with his first runners in 2011, headed by Parish Hall, who emulated his sire when winning the G1 Dewhurst Stakes.

On 28 March, Light Heavy - a three-parts brother to Parish Hall – attracted plenty of attention and looks to be an exciting prospect for his sire when he broke his maiden over a mile at Leopardstown. The three-year-old colt finished ahead of several highly-regarded horses, including the 113-rated Furner’s Green (fourth in the G1 National Stakes last year).

Jim Bolger’s homebred holds entries in the English and Irish Guineas plus the Irish Derby, with his trainer indicating after the race that he will now step up in trip and is likely to be aimed at the upcoming Derby trials.

Light Heavy is out of the Quest For Fame mare Siamsa, also grandam of Parish Hall.

Teofilo stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €25,000, October 1st Special live foal.
