New Stakes winner for Slickly

Dartagnan d’Azur on top at Longchamp

Slickly, a consistent source of high-class winners and leading French sire by European earnings for the past five years, added a new Black type winner on 4 September when Dartagnan d’Azur took the Prix du Boulogne at Longchamp.

Settled in third for much of the ten-furlong contest, the five-year-old entire came with a perfectly-timed late run, sweeping home to win by a neck and record his fifth career victory.

Bred by Earl Haras du Taillis and A J Crabb, he is out of the winning Highest Honor mare Dinner Bell, herself a granddaughter of G1 winner Special Team.

Slickly, who stands at Haras du Logis, is also sire of multiple G1 winner Meandre, plus fellow Group winners Gris de Gris, Runaway, Mobaco and Lixirova.
