New Stakes winner for Profitable at Sandown Park

Mitbaahy comes from last to first in Listed Scurry Stakes

Mitbaahy, an improving son of Profitable, claimed the five furlong Listed Scurry Stakes at Sandown Park on Saturday, 11 June, for owners Mr Hasan Mefareh Alajmi and Fawzi Nass.

Trained by Roger Varian, the three-year-old colt, an easy winner on his last start, was settled in the rear before being unleashed by jockey David Egan to sweep down the outside to go clear and win by an easy length and a half.

Bred by N Hartery, Mitbaahy is a half brother to G1 Del Mar Oaks winner Going Global, they are out of the winning mare Wrood (Invasor).

Profitable, a brilliant winner of the G1 King’s Stands Stakes and fastest G1 sprinting son of Invincible Spirit, enjoyed a hugely successful first season in 2021, siring 28 winners. These were led by his winning daughter Quick Suzy, winner of the G2 Queen Mary and G3 winning sprinter, Miramar.
