New Stakes winner for Manduro

2yo filly Meerjungfrau remains unbeaten

Manduro recorded a new Stakes winner on 27 October when his two-year-old daughter Meerjungfrau landed the Listed Preis des Gestuts Brummerhof, run over seven furlongs at Hannover.

Settled in fourth position, the Andreas Wöhler-trained filly was asked to quicken once entering the home straight and soon took the lead, keeping to her task in determined style to hold off the challenges of Goiana and Papagena Star to win by half a length.

Bred by Gestüt Görlsdorf, she is the second winner from two foals to race out of the winning mare Meergottin, herself a half-sister to Stakes winner Mannico. They are from the family of G1 winner Meridiana.

Manduro has now sired 16 individual Black type winners this year, including unbeaten Italian Oaks winner Charity Line, plus fellow unbeaten Stakes winner Drive To Hell.
