New Stakes winner for Manduro

Sopran Montieri lands the Listed Premio Merano

Manduro, whose first crop have been making their presence felt on the racecourse so far this year, recorded his fourth individual Stakes winner on 3 June when three-year-old colt Sopran Montieri landed the Listed Premio Merano, run over ten furlongs in Milan.

This was the third win from four starts for the colt, who won on his racecourse debut in March, before following up with an impressive win in a ten-furlong conditions race in Rome the following month.

Bred by Leonardo Ciampoli, Sopran Montieri is out of the Italian 1,000 Guineas winner Sopran Londa, making him a half-brother to G1 winner Cima de Triomphe.

Manduro has sired an impressive 20 winners to date in 2012, including G2 Dante Stakes winner Bonfire and G3 winner Trois Lunes.
