New Stakes winner for Exceed And Excel

Priceless heads up a 1-2 for her sire in the Listed Scarborough Stakes at Doncaster

Exceed And Excel has been enjoying a successful spell of late and on 7 September his daughter Priceless became his sixth worldwide Black type winner in less than four weeks when landing the five-furlong Listed Scarborough Stakes.

The three-year-old filly, who is trained by Clive Cox, tracked the early pace under Silvestre de Sousa and hitting the front at the furlong marker, ran on superbly to win by three-quarters of a length from fellow Exceed And Excel filly Thesme.

Bred by Biddestone Stud, Priceless is out of the winning Rudimentary mare Molly Brown, also dam of G2 Mill Reef Stakes second Doctor Brown and Group producer Bright Moll.

At the weekend, Exceed And Excel’s seasoned campaigner Belgian Bill took the valuable Anatolia Trophy (a local G2 contest) in Istanbul, while earlier last week his daughter Signora Queen landed the Listed Baden-Baden Cup, with his three-year-old son Degas taking second in the G2 Darley Oettingen Rennen at the same meeting.
