New Stakes winner for Dubawi

Royal Island takes the Wangoom Handicap in Australia

Dubawi sired his 15th Stakes winner of 2015 on Wednesday May 6 when his son Royal Island landed the Wangoom Handicap in Australia. With this authoritative two-and-a-half length victory in the 1200m contest, Royal Island has now won six of his 17 career starts.

Bred by Mr J Hirsch, Royal Island is the best performer of the four-time winning mare Jessie Jane, who has produced a further three winners.

Dubawi's total of 15 individual Stakes winners this year puts him on a par with Medaglia d'Oro and four clear of any other stallion in the world. Amongst the 15 are ten Group winners including top-flight scorers Prince Bishop, Hunter's Light and Shamal Wind. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud for a fee of £125,000 Oct 1st, SLF alongside his G1-winning son Poet's Voice (£12,000).
