New Black type winner for Slickly

Le Ring, a three-year-old son of last year’s Champion sire in France, Slickly, recorded his fifth career win and first at Stakes level on 14 May, landing the Listed Prix Georges Trabaud in France.

Settled off the pace during the early stages of the 2000m contest, the Frederic Rossi-trained colt took the lead and moved clear of his rivals 400m from home and kept on well to win by a length and a half.

Owned and bred by Jean-Claude Seroul, Le Ring is out of Joha, who won this race herself back in 2000. They are from the family of Kaldounevees.

Monsieur Seroul has enjoyed some tremendous success with Slickly already, having bred G1 Prix d’Ispahan second and G2 Prix du Muguet winner Gris de Gris, plus 2013 Listed winner Santa Ponsa (who lines up in tomorrow’s G3 Prix Cleopatre), Carnevalo, Mariage Tardif, Splendido and Libertador.

Slickly, also sire of Meandre (who won two G1 contests in 2012), stands at Haras du Logis at a fee of €7,000 October 1st SLF.
