Meydan Trophy victory for Dubai Future

Son of Dubawi further Black Type to his record

Dubawi’s Dubai Future maintained his good record at Meydan on Thursday, 4 February when landing the Listed Meydan Trophy.

Settled in mid division under Frankie Dettori, Saeed bin Suroor’s charge travelled well throughout and making progress three furlongs out, took the lead a furlong and a half from home and soon moved clear to win by a length and a half.

Dubai Future opened his 2021 account with a second in the Listed Dubai Racing Club Classic two weeks ago. He won at Meydan on his first start of 2020 before going on to finish second in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Trophy, a race he will aim to go one better in this year.

Dubai Future is one of three winners from three foals to race out of the Group-winning Street Cry mare Anjaz. He is closely related to Dubawi’s multiple Group winner Ispolini and is from the family of Nathaniel.

Dubawi is now sire of four individual Stakes winners so far this year and a further four runners who have placed at Black Type level. They are headed by G2 Al Maktoum Challenge R1 winner Military Law, now a contender for the Dubai World Cup.
