Meandre strolls to his third G1 win

Slickly colt cruises to victory in the Grosser Preis Von Berlin

Four-year-old colt Meandre has been a wonderful campaigner for his sire Slickly, winning the G1 Grand Prix de Paris last July and the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (also at G1 level) last month.

On 22 July, Andre Fabre’s charge added his third victory at the highest level with an easy win in the 12-furling G1 Grosser Preis Von Berlin in Germany.

Settled just off the pace under Maxime Guyon, once asked to quicken Meandre soon took the lead and easily moved clear of his rivals to win in convincing fashion.

Owned and bred by the Rothschild family, Meandre is the first foal to race out of the Black type performer Penne. This family has enjoyed further success with Slickly, as Penne’s half-sister Tendre Pensee is dam of another of his Stakes winners in Gris Tendre.
