A match made in heaven

Outstanding mare Zarkava, who rounded off a spectacular seven-race unbeaten run with victory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, has recently been scanned in foal to Dubawi, with her foal due next February.

Zarkava is one of no fewer than 25 G1 winners confirmed in foal to Dubawi so far this year. Others include Cape Cross’s multiple G1 winner Ouija Board, Porto Roca (a G1 winner herself and also the dam of Dubawi’s Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso), Casual Look, Gossamer and Kazzia.

Dubawi, recently described as, “pretty certainly the best young sire in the world” by Bill Oppenheim, is enjoying yet another fantastic season, with eight Stakes winners already on the board for 2012.

Since his first crop raced in 2009, Dubawi has sired 13% Stakes winners to runners and 8% Group winners to runners – making him the best sire in Europe, and by some way.

The resultant offspring of this year’s coverings – including Zarkava’s foal – are due to hit the racecourse in 2015 and with their outstanding pedigrees, and Dubawi’s success to date, hope are high that these truly will be matches made in heaven.
