Kitesurf cruises to G2 win at Deauville

Daughter of Dubawi becomes her sire’s second Stakes winner in two days, landing the G2 Darley Prix de Pomone

Four-year-old Dubawi filly Kitesurf added a third Group win to her record in fine style on Sunday, 19 August with an easy win in the G2 Prix de Pomone at Deauville.

Racing off the early pace under Mickael Barzalona, Kitesurf was widest of all coming round the final turn but simply cruised down the home straight to win eased down by three and a half lengths.

The Andre Fabre-trained filly won the G3 Prix de Royaumont at three and landed the G3 Allez France earlier this year. She is now likely to step up to G1 level for her next start.

Kitesurf was bred by Peter Winkworth and is the first foal out of the Group-winning Danehill Dancer mare Shimmering Surf.

She becomes the second Black Type winner of the weekend for Dubawi, whose son Al Hilalee retained his unbeaten record when landing the Listed Criterium du Fonds Europeen de l’Elevage on Saturday, also at Deauville.
