Ghaiyyath’s first-crop daughter Al Uqda took her record to four wins from four starts with a clear-cut success in the Listed Prix Madame Jean Couturie at Vichy on Thursday, 17 July.
The three-year-old filly made all the running in the mile-and-a-quarter contest, extending her advantage in the home straight to win unchallenged by two lengths.

Bred by Haras d’Haspel, Al Uqda was an Arqana Deauville October Yearling purchase. She is out of the winning mare, Tampa Dream (Champs Elysees), herself a daughter of Tarentaise, who is the dam of G2 winner, Equilateral.
Al Uqda is one of a number of exciting horses for young sire Ghaiyyath, including recent Listed Sir Henry Cecil Stakes winner Opera Ballo, whose victory at Newmarket was given a Timeform rating of 122, equal to that of future Champion miler Baaeed. Among his other prospects are Classic horse and Group winner Mandanaba, and unbeaten three-year-old Gethin.
