Impressive new Stakes winner for Dubawi

Officer lands the Listed Tetrarch Stakes at the Curragh

Officer, a three-year-old son of Dubawi, graduated into a Stakes winner on Monday, 5 May when running out the easy winner of the Listed Tetrarch Stakes. Run over a mile at the Curragh, he swept down the outside to record a one-and-three-quarter length victory.

An unbeaten juvenile, Officer was third in the Listed Gladness Stakes in March on only his second career start. He has numerous big race entries including the G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas and G1 St James’s Palace Stakes over a mile and the English and Irish Derby over half-a-mile further.

Bred by Coolmore, he is out of the brilliant Galileo mare Hydrangea, winner of the G1 British Champions Fillies/Mares Stakes and G1 Matron Stakes in 2017. She has already produced a Stakes winner by Dubawi through Wingspan, who was also placed at G1 level.

Dubawi is fast approaching a notable milestone with Officer becoming his 298th individual Stakes winner. His 12 Stakes winners this season now includes five three-year-olds including Group winners Delacroix and Zanzoun, and Friday’s impressive Newmarket scorer Alpine Trail
