Impressive new Group winner for Exceed And Excel

Computer Patch strikes in G3 National Day Cup at Sha Tin

Exceed And Excel’s son Computer Patch, who raced in Australia as Sun Patch, landed his first Group contest on Thursday, 1 October when making all the running in the G3 National Day Cup. The progressive four-year-old soon went to the front under jockey Joao Moreira, and never seeing another rival in the five furlong contest, won easily by two-and-three-quarter lengths in a very quick 55.84 seconds.

Bred in Australia by G S A Bloodstock, Computer Patch is a son of the Stakes-winning mare Girl Hussler (Hussonet), who has produced three Group winners including top-flight scorer Manuel (Commands).

Exceed And Excel has sired 18 Stakes winners in 2020 including three that won at the highest level. Bivouac landed the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington in March, Mr Stunning won the Chairman’s Sprint Prize in Hong Kong and the Irish-bred filly Queen Supreme struck in South Africa in the Paddock Stakes.
