Eyshal lands the spoils in thrilling finish at Sha Tin

Former top-class juvenile Eyshal, who was third to Teofilo in the G1 National Stakes in 2006,  has switched from Ireland to Hong Kong, where he fought home to win the Listed Centenary Vase bin a three-way photo-finish on Sunday.

The five-year-old by Green Desert was bred by HH Aga Khan Studs out of the Darley Irish Oaks winner Ebadiyla, by Sadler’s Wells. She is also the dam of the G1 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle winner Ebaziyan.

Eyshal also ran third in the G3 Gallinule Stakes when still trained by John Oxx before heading to Hong Kong last year.
