Group victory for son of Manduro

Four-year-old Square de Luynes an easy winner of G3 Oslo Cup

Square de Luynes, a son of Manduro, was a comfortable winner of the G3 Oslo Cup at Ovrevoll on Saturday, 29 June. A winner of a Listed contest at the same course last season, the four-year-old colt proved no match for the chasing field, easing down in the final 200m to win by four and a half lengths.

Bred by Jaques Beres, Square de Luynes is a half-brother to the Listed winning and G3 placed filly Glowing Cloud out of the Listed winning mare Power Girl (Dashing Blade). They are from the German family of G1 Deutsches Derby hero Pik Konig and G2 German Two Thousand Guineas winner Philipo.

Manduro is the sire of six individual G1 winners including the multiple G1 winning Vazirabad, French Champion juvenile Ultra and Prix Jean Romanet heroine Ribbons.
