G2 victory for daughter of Dubawi

Shamreen leads all the way to land the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh

Dubawi’s consistent three-year-old daughter Shamreen added a first Group win to her record in gutsy fashion on 11 September when leading all the way to take the G2 Blandford Stakes, run over ten furlongs at the Curragh.

Sent straight to the front under Pat Smullen, Shamreen was in control throughout and saw off a sustained challenge from Best In The World to win by half a length.

Owned and bred by HH The Aga Khan, Shamreen is out of the Group-winning Bahri mare Shareen, a half-sister to Shamardal’s multiple Stakes and G3 winner Sharestan.

Dubawi has now sired 22 individual Black type winners this year, and ten horses who have won or placed at G1 level.
