Friday Stakes double for Dubawi

Valiant Prince wins a G2 in Dubai and Warren Point strikes in Bahrain

Dubawi sired a Stakes double on Friday, 3 February.

The highlight was a thrilling victory for Valiant Prince at Meydan in the G2 Singspiel Stakes. Carrying a 4lb penalty for his win earlier this year in the G2 Al Rashidiya, he showed great tenacity to win in a photo.

Bred by R. A. H. Evans, he is a son of the Champion older mare Chachamaidee, the winner of the G1 Matron Stakes. Chachamaidee hails from the extended family of Dubawi’s three-time G1 winner Space Blues, who is just about to embark on his second season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland.

Earlier in the day another Charlie Appleby trained son of Dubawi easily won his second Stakes race when Warren Point struck in Bahrain. The four-year-old Godolphin homebred has progressed through the grades, finishing 2022 with a victory in the Listed Floodlit Stakes at Kempton.

Champion Dubawi has now sired six Stakes winners in 2023 more than any other stallion in the world.
