Fleeting Motion a smart new winner for Sepoy

Two-year-old filly posts eye-catching win at Doncaster

First-season sire Sepoy recorded his 14th European winner in some style on 21 October when his daughter Fleeting Motion ran out the convincing winner of the one-mile fillies’ maiden at Doncaster.

Richard Hannon’s charge tracked the early pace under Tom Marquand and was always travelling well. Asked to quicken once approaching the two-furlong marker, Fleeting Motion soon took the lead and kept to her task superbly to win by a length and a half.

Bred by Peter Tellwright, Fleeting Motion is out of the multiple winner Fleeting Image (Sir Percy), herself a half-sister to G1 Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Rebelline, who also won the Pretty Polly. Rebelline has produced two Stakes winners, including Cape Cross’s Irish 2,000 Guineas Trial winner Recharge, who went on to finished second in the Tattersalls Gold Cup himself.

Sepoy is also sire of Group-winning filly Kilmah, plus fellow Black type winner Baileys Showgirl. Another of his daughters, Dabyah, was third in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac at the start of the month.
