First winner for Manduro

Salez wins easily at Vichy

Manduro registered his first winner on Tuesday August 16 when his daughter Salez easily disposed of her rivals by four-lengths over a mile at Vichy. Favoured going into the race after a debut second at Compiegne, she was soon close to pace from her outside draw, before kicking for home in the straight to win easing down.

Owned and bred by Ecurie des Monceaux, she is out of Giant's Causeway dam Senderlea, who is herself a half-sister to the G2-winner Quest For Honor and the Stakes scorer Astrologie.

An unbeaten Champion as a juvenile, Manduro progressed to become the world's best in 2007 when completing a G1 treble in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, Prix Jacques le Marois and Prix d'Ispahan. A group winner between a mile and mile-and-a-half, he has been very well supported since retiring to stud with offspring of 150 mares that are either Group winners or dams of Group winners in his first two seasons.
