First two for Teofilo in the G3 Tyros Stakes

Remember Alexander breaks her Maiden when beating Parish Hall

Teofilo's juvenile daughter, Remember Alexander broke her Maiden in style on Thursday July 21, leading home a 1-2 for her sire when beating Parish Hall in the G3 Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown. Heading into the race a Maiden after two starts, she was keen early in the seven-furlong contest, but when Parish Hall went for home early in the straight she fought on tenaciously in the middle of the track to win going away by four lengths. Parish Hall ran a gallant race in second, racing alone on the far rail, on only his second-ever career start.

The Tyros Stakes has a rich history in producing future stars, with the last five winners all going on to land G1 contests. Jim Bolger, Parish Hall's trainer, has used this race as a stepping-stone for future champions with both Teofilo and New Approach victorious before becoming unbeaten European Champion juveniles.

Bred by Wood Hall Stud, Remember Alexander is a half-sister to Memory, a dual Group-winning juvenile last season including the G2 Cherry Hinton Stakes.

Teofilo has now sired seven individual winners, all of which are rated over 80 by Timeform. His other Stakes winner Teolane, also trained by Jim Bolger, was the impressive winner of the Listed Naas Fillies' Sprint and is being aimed at the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, while the unbeaten Tom Dascombe filly Viola d'Amour, heads to Germany on Sunday to contest the Listed Oppenheim-Rennen at Koln.
