First Stakes victory for daughter of Profitable at Lingfield

Kimngrace shows impressive turn of foot to land Listed Hever Sprint Stakes

Profitable’s four-year-old daughter, Kimngrace made the best possible start to her season when adding a first Stakes victory to her career with a win in the Hever Sprint Stakes at Lingfield on Saturday, 25 February.

The Richard Hughes-trained filly, who is already a winner of three races including an impressive three-length win at York last October, was settled near the rear for most of the race before showing an impressive turn of foot in the final furlong, coming from off the pace under a hands and heels ride by George Rooke to score by half-a-length in the five furlong contest.

Bred by Colin Kennedy, Kimngrace is a daughter of the winning Exceed And Excel mare, Estonia, who has bred three other winners.

Profitable is now establishing himself as one of Europe’s best up and coming speed stallions with 11 Black Type performers to date. Among his Group winners are G2 heroine Quick Suzy (Queen Mary Stakes) and Wed (G2 Prix du Calvados), Mitbaahy (G3 World Trophy) and Miramar (G3 Prix Sigy).

Profitable stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €9,000, Oct 1, SLF.
