First Raven’s Pass foals in Europe find favour

A week after six Raven's Pass yearlings each made six-figure sums at Keeneland, the first foals by the Breeders’ Cup Classic winner to sell in Europe at Goffs fetched an average of €85,000.

The Cloneymore Farm-consigned colt out of dual Group Three winner Miss Sally (Danetime) went the way of Norman Steel for €90,000, while Kilfrush Stud’s February-foaled colt out of the Barathea mare Traou Mad, from the family of Josr Algarhoud, was sold for €80,000.

Among the six-figure weanlings bought at Goffs was an Authorized colt out of Desert Frolic, and thus a half-brother to Shamardal’s recent Group Three winner Dubai Prince, which was knocked down for €150,000.

Shamardal himself had a colt foal fetch €135,000, the son of Jazzy Jan (Royal Academy) being yet another good result for the Cloneymore Farm draft.

Teofilo, leading first-crop stallion with his yearlings this season, was the sire of the Dowager Duchess of Harrington’s colt out of Eyrecourt, a full-sister to Prix Vermeille winner Pearly Shells, which was sold for €100,000.
