First mares scanned in foal to new young trio

Palace Pier, Space Blues and Victor Ludorum make successful starts to their stud careers

The three stallions new to the European Darley roster for 2022: Palace Pier, Space Blues and Victor Ludorum, have all now had their first mares scanned in foal.

All three have proved extremely popular since retiring to stud, with each now having a full book of mares.

World Champion miler Palace Pier won no fewer than five G1 contests during his glittering racing career, including the St James’s Palace Stakes and the Queen Anne at consecutive Royal Ascot meetings. He also became the first horse for 25 years to win back-to-back runnings of the Prix Jacques le Marois. He stands at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket.

Kildangan Stud resident Space Blues is Dubawi’s fastest stallion son and won last year’s G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile in thrilling fashion. He is also winner of the G1 Prix de la Foret and G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest.

Shamardal’s outstanding son Victor Ludorum retired to Haras du Logis in France having landed the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere during an unbeaten juvenile campaign. He went on to win the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains at three, emulating his great sire in the process.
