First mare confirmed in foal to Casamento

G1 mare Luminata gets first-season sire off the mark

Casamento, winner of the G1 Racing Post Trophy and the best juvenile to date by Shamardal, has had his first mare scanned in foal.

The mare, Luminata, was a Stakes-winning juvenile who also finished a narrow second in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes. She is already dam of five-time winner Aladdin’s Lamp and has a two-year-old colt by Teofilo, plus a yearling colt by Iffraaj.

Casamento was also the four-length winner of the G2 Beresford Stakes and was second by just a head in the G1 National Stakes en route to his victory at Doncaster. He retired to stud this year and stands alongside his sire at Kildangan at a fee of €5,000 October 1st SLF.

He has proved very popular with breeders already, with some 31 Stakes producers due to visit him this season.
