New winner for Casamento

Arzaak breaks his maiden by four and a half lengths

Casamento’s first-crop son Arzaak proved much the best of his seven rivals on 4 April when taking the five-furlong maiden at Southwell by four and a half lengths.

Sent straight to the front under Silvestre de Sousa, Chris Dwyer’s charge was always in command and once asked to quicken, soon moved clear to win easily.

Bred by Gerard Kerin, Arzaak is out of the unraced Dixie Union mare Dixieland Kiss, making him a half-brother to G2 Lowther Stakes winner and G1 Cheveley Park Stakes third Besharah.

Casamento, sire of Group-performing duo Stamp Collecting and Kings Gift last year, has made a promising start to 2017 with G1 Prix de Diane entrant Rythmique heading his early-season winners.

Casamento stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £5,000 October 1st SLF.
