First of many

Teofilo's first ever runner is a winner when Parish Hall lands the six-furlong Maiden at Leopardstown

It was July of his juvenile campaign when Teofilo made a winning debut at the Curragh, but on Sunday April 10 his first ever runner was successful, when his son Parish Hall won the six-furlong Maiden at Leopardstown.

Trained, like his sire, by Jim Bolger, he settled in third from the off behind the strong pace, made his move rounding the home bend before battling well to score by three-quarters-of-a-length. It is worth noting that this was his trainers fifth winner of this race since 2004, with all four previous winners all becoming Stakes horses including the three-time G1 winner Finsceal Beo.

Also bred by Jim Bolger, he is the first foal out of the Montjeu mare Halla Siamsa, a winner over ten-furlongs at Fairyhouse in 2007.

Standing this season at Kildangan Stud in Ireland for €15,000, Teofilo went unbeaten in a five-race juvenile campaign that included the National Stakes and Dewhurst Stakes.
