First Group win for son of Teofilo

Glorious Dragon leads home a one-two for his sire in the G3 Centenary Vase

Glorious Dragon, formerly known as Stephensons Rocket in Europe, recorded his first Group victory on Sunday, 31 January in the G3 Centenary Vase at Sha Tin. Slicing through the field in the home straight, he won going away by one and three quarter lengths from his paternal half-brother Exultant, who had won the previous two runnings of the race.

Bred by Team Hogdala, Glorious Dragon is a son of the Highest Honor mare Tipperary Honor, who has produced three Stakes performers including the Stakes-placed Vaunoise, also by Teofilo.

Teofilo has now sired 95 Stakes winners including 21 that had won at the highest level. He is coming off the back of a tremendous 2020 where he sired six G1 winners including Twilight Payment, Subjectivist, Gear Up, Tawkeel and Donjah.
