First foals for Palace Pier and Space Blues

New arrivals for Champion duo who have eight G1 wins between them
Palace Pier at Dalham Hall Stud

Palace Pier and Space Blues were both multiple G1-winning Champions on the racecourse and upon retiring to stud, were each duly rewarded with a large, high-class book of mares and the resultant foals are now beginning to arrive.

The first reported foal for five-time G1 winner Palace Pier was a colt out of the Dubawi mare Tanaaghom, born on 21 January. The mare is herself a daughter of the Stakes-winning, Group-placed Teofilo mare Adool.

He was described as, “a good foal, with a nice head and good shape and colour.”

Palace Pier’s first book of 154 mares included Integral, Speedy Boarding and Great Heavens, plus the dams of Cracksman, Aclaim and Farhh and sisters to Kinross, Magna Grecia, Alpha Centauri, Moonlight Cloud and Nightime.

Meanwhile, on 19 January, a filly by Breeders’ Cup hero Space Blues was born at Kildaragh Stud.

She is out of the multiple winner and Group-placed Samasthiti and is reported to be, “a decent foal and connections are very pleased with her.”

Space Blues, the winner of the G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile on his final career start, covered an excellent book of 159 mares in his first season in Ireland.

Palace Pier stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £50,000, while Space Blues stands at Kildangan Stud at €16,000, both Oct 1 SLF.
